Theodor Lyngstad

Theodor Lyngstad is the Principal Cellist of Copenhagen Phil, a position he won in 2019. 

Lyngstad is a graduate of the Soloist Class at The Royal Danish Academy of Music and can look back on previous studies in Oslo and New York. 

Lyngstad has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras in Denmark and Norway. He is also a passionate Chamber Musician, and has been invited to play Chamber Music Concerts in The Berliner Philharmonic, Carneige Hall and in Festivals and Concert Halls across Scandinavia. 

In 2015, Lyngstad received the Léonie Sonning Talent Award. Additionally he is a prise winner in the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition and the Danish String Competition. 

Lyngstad is a member of The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, and he regularly visits other Symphony Orchestras as Principle Cellist.
